Piers Helm is a Creative Director based in Brighton with a career in motion graphics for TV that spans over three decades. Throughout his career, Piers has been responsible for creating some of the most iconic and recognizable visual identities in television, these include the logo for MasterChef which has been adopted by over 50 countries that produce the show. Other major productions include Strictly Come Dancing where he has been responsible for the visual identity for the last 23 years desiging the logo and branding and directing the title sequence each year, The Voice, and Dancing on Ice amongst many others.
While much of his professional work is driven by cutting-edge computer-generated design, Piers also maintains a passion for traditional, hands-on artistry, this is now more important than ever given the rise of A1. His personal art involves creating assemblages, where he repurposes scavenged items into unique sculptures that blend the iconic smiley face with Victorian-era antiques, creating a striking contrast between the cheerful simplicity of modern optimism and the intricate, somber aesthetics of the past blending his love for history and design with his inventive spirit and sense of humour.
